2008 Olympics - Live And Online
Has it really been 4 years since Athens? The 2008 Olympics are now here and it is sure to be the most spectacular summer Olympics ever! The modern summer Olympics date back to 1894, although as we all know
the Olympic ideal has been around a lot longer than that. When China were awarded the games they promised us all something a little bit special and no doubt they will deliver. The sheer monetary investment that has gone into
the 2008 Olympics is staggering enough, never mind some of the technologies that have been used to provide the Olympics with the most modern sports arenas on the planet. China hosting the Olympics has also caused some of the biggest controversy seen in
recent times, the Olympic torch procession was a much subdued affair this time as protestors voiced their opinions on China's poor human rights record. Every Olympics has its controversies though, the drug cheat Dwain Chambers losing his appeal to represent Great Britain being yet another
one this year. Right up to the vey last day there have been pollution concerns about holding the games in China, it's a bit late now though. The time for the worries and politics of sport is over, now it's time for the sports men and women of the world to step forward and keep us mere mortals entertained! The summer Olympics always has and always will be one of my favourite sports events, I just hope that
the 2008 Olympics lives up to all the hype!
The Olympics is huge, attracting one of the largest TV sporting audiences on Earth. From the 8th of August until the 24th of August there is going to be a huge amount of sport going on. You can see the
full Olympic Schedule by following the link but just some of the sports events include Athletics, Rowing, Gymnastics, Swimming, Boxing and Shooting. All of these different Olympic sports are going to be competing for
TV air time so you might not always get to watch what you want. However there is another way to watch as well, online. During the Olympics many of the channels that broadcast online via live streams will be showing coverage. Whether you can't find what you want through normal TV
or maybe if you're stuck in an office whilst the Olympics takes place then watching online is possible. If you live in the UK then the great news is that the BBC will be showing up to 7 different Olympic live streaming channels all at the same time. If you are elsewhere then in order to find out what Olympic events are showing on any given day you should check out the schedules page for further information.
If watching the Olympics from 1'000's of miles away isn't good enough for you then you might still be able to get a last minute ticket. The following Olympics Tickets are still available!
