Fast greens, lots of bunkers and the world beating golfers, the US Open is finally here. The second of the majors tees off at Pebble Beach Golf Course on Thursday 17th June 2010, with American Lucas Glover the current champion. The US Open is seen by a lot of people to be the most exciting golf event of the year, with the USPGA setting the worlds best golfers a serious challenge. From the 380 yard Par 4 first to the 543 yard Par 5 last all this years US Open competitors are sure to get no easy holes!
The course at Pebble Beach will be set up at 7,040 yards which is 194 yards longer than when this course was last used for the US Open in 2000.
This years tournament will be seen as a (yet another) come back for Tiger Woods who has recently recovered from personal problems and some fitness issues. The tournament will be very open, not that it ever follows any sort of a script anyway!
The US Open is one of the most watched golf tournaments in the world, it is one of those tournaments that really does attract a global audience. It's not unknown for people to take days of work for this one! TV coverage will be extensive in most countries but
