Golf, the Open Championship - Live On The Internet
The 151st Open golf tournament takes place this weekend (14th - 17th July) at one of the most famous golf courses in the world, Royal St George's in Sandwich. Comprising of a field of 156 top golfers this years tournament is seen as being one of the most open in many years, I'm guessing we'd all like to see Rory carry on from his win in the US Open? As always for the open the course they have chosen is difficult, the Royal St George course is well known for the challenge it presents to even the worlds top golf pro's.
It can be guaranteed that the British weather will play its part, the forecast seems to be a mix of showers and strengthening winds, combine this with the tough course, Tiger Woods missing, the excellent form of the European players this year and we're going to have
one of the most exciting and unpredictable golf tournaments in many years. Not if you believe the major pundits though, come on you wouldn't expect them to do anything other than back Rory McIlroy to the hilt would you? Not that the other locals will be keeping quite,
I'm sure there are plenty of others out there looking to take a major.
