For those of you not sure what the NFL Playoffs are all about here is a little background knowledge.
The NFL or National Footbal League is the largest professional American football league, consisting of thirty-two teams from American cities and various regions. The league's teams are divided into two conferences, the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). The AFC and NFC are then further divided into four divisions consisting of four teams each, labeled East, West, North, and South (Confusing, but stick with it!). During the league's regular season, each team plays sixteen games over a seventeen-week period, generally from September to December.
At the end of the regular season six teams from each conference (AFC, NFC) then play in the NFL playoffs. The playoffs are a twelve-team single-elimination tournament that culminates with the NFL championship called the Super Bowl, this year on February 4th 2007 it's Super Bowl XLI!
